From the series: Espoo Intervention

A series of photographs documents temporary interventions in Espoo, Finland: Birch trees are photographed and the resulting images are attached to the trunks of the birch trees. The trees are birch trees, the paper is made of birch pulp, and the subjects are birch trees as well. Three different presences of the tree meet. The photographs correspond to sections of the trees, which can never be completely depicted in their entirety. As an incomplete representation of life, the medium of photography merely offers insight into a version of reality and is exhibited here as a copy of the original.
