River stone; birch bark
2024

From the series: fusione

The “fusione” series combines stones found in Ticino with found bark and driftwood from the Peccia river. The starting point for these works was a severe storm that devastated the Lavizzara Valley in the summer of 2024 and left deep traces in the landscape. The series takes up the changes in the landscape and recalls the state of the riverbed full of artificial and natural fragments after the storm. Stone and bark merge together in sculptural gestures. Bark that has been peeled from the trees by the force of the moving stones. The series was created as part of a three-month residency at the Centro Internazionale di Scultura in Peccia. In the “fusione” series, relationships emerge - material, color and texture refer to each other. Bark and wood capture a moment of change.
