From the series: collages birch bark

In the series of small-scale works, industrially produced birch veneer and birch bark meet in geometric forms. The wide spectrum of different layers of birch bark unfolds a diverse color palette. The geometric arrangements of the various-colored bark fragments mark the intersection between nature and culture, reflecting human intervention in nature and its sensitive ecosystems. The birch collages reference the decoupling between industrially produced wood building materials and the origin of these materials, the trees with all their components, and raise awareness of the planet’s limits.
